Susan has worked in the mental health field for over 25 years.  She has a psychology degree from Hamline University, a nursing degree from Bethel University and attended graduate school at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities.  She is licensed and certified to see adult mental health and psychiatric patients for therapy and medication management.  Susan has worked in a variety of settings including state hospital, outpatient settings, nonprofit, and private hospital/clinic settings both inpatient and outpatient.  She has worked with mentally ill and dangerous, addictions: outpatient, detox and inpatient, dual disorder, dementia, psycho geriatrics, eating disorders, crisis stabilization and severe and persistently mentally ill.

She was Chief Clinical and Nursing Director in Fargo, ND.  She has provided consultant services all over the United States and also taught psychiatric nursing at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. She has provided mentoring to students and believes in giving back to the profession and those moving into psychiatry in any job title.  She moved back to the Twin Cities in 2010 to start a private practice and be close to family.  She returned to work with PrairieCare in December of 2010 to assist with opening up the hospital and supervise both nursing and clinical services. She is currently seeing adult outpatients in our Woodbury Clinic. Susan believes wholeheartedly in the PrairieCare’s vision of giving each patient the care that he/she truly need and deserve.
