Mel joined PrairieCare in August 2011 as a Hybrid Therapist/Needs Assessment Counselor and moved into a permanent therapist position in the Maple Grove Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) in December 2011.  In 2014 she transitioned to being the Maple Grove PHP Supervisor while also continuing my role as a therapist on the team.  Mel has been working with children and adolescents since 2005 and is passionate about helping them to find a voice within their family system.  She believes in a strengths based approach to working with patients and their families. Mel  often focuses on choices and taking responsibility for oneself.  She thinks family therapy is a crucial component of treatment as she believes everyone in the family plays a part in what is going on at any given time.  Mel was thrilled to join the interdisciplinary team at PrairieCare because the team is able to work together to give patients the care that they deserve.

In early 2017 Mel transitioned into the role of Operations Director in Maple Grove.  During the summer of 2017 we moved all outpatient services from Maple Grove to the Medical Office Building in Brooklyn park where Mel continues to serve as the Operations Director while maintaining a small outpatient clinic.
