Sandi is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with over 16 years experience working with children/adolescents and their families.  Sandi is a therapist at PrairieCare’s Rochester site. She has previously worked as a therapist in a residential setting, an outpatient clinic, and in co-located services within a high school.  Sandi is also a trained Trauma Focused – Cognitive Behavioral Therapist.  Her focus is working with children, adolescents, and adults with anxiety, depression, anger, trauma, and attachment issues.   Her treatment approach is to provide a safe environment that offers support and encouragement, while also providing useful tools and strategies, that her clients can use to persevere through their struggles.   She uses a creative and eclectic approach with techniques including Solution Focused-Brief Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.  Sandi believes in the resiliency of children and adolescents and believes the support system and family system as a whole is critical in the care and treatment of the client.  Sandi has worked as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and places a great deal of importance on collaborating and communicating with all members of the treatment team including the client, caregivers, social workers, and professional staff.
