Now Open – PrairieCare Hospital in Maple Grove, MN
PrairieCare has opened a new state-of-the-art inpatient psychiatric hospital and partial hospital for children and adolescents in Maple Grove, MN. This facility is the first of its kind in Minnesota and was approved with overwhelming support during the 2009 legislative session. The·ribbon cutting ceremony held on February 3rd marks a new chapter in the delivery of psychiatric services to youth and families in the Twin Cities metro area. Nearly one out of every four individuals will suffer from symptoms of a diagnosable disorder in their lifetime. The stakeholders involved in the development of this new child and adolescent hospital have been working diligently to offer each individual the psychiatric care they truly need.
This new facility will be able to provide inpatient treatment to over 600 children and adolescents per year. PrairieCare will continue to provide outpatient and partial hospital services to all ages in Edina and Woodbury. This new facility will increase access to services throughout the metro area as well as offer an expanded continuum-of-care that will enhance the quality of treatment. PrairieCare is widely recognized for offering cutting edge treatment provided by top professionals in the field. Recent formal collaboration with the University of Minnesota has made PrairieCare a premiere training site for child psychiatrists and other mental health professionals in the Midwest. PrairieCare is dedicated to remain the driving force behind collaborating with other agencies to improve the delivery of health care services.
