Abby Cink originally joined PrairieCare in 2018, after graduating with a Health Sciences degree from University of Minnesota-Rochester. She began her career as a Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Technician in Rochester, and shortly after, started pursuing her Master’s of Arts Degree in Counseling and Psychological Services, which she completed in 2020. As a psych tech, Abby ran groups, greatly enjoying those focusing on psycho-education, as well as practicing de-escalation with the patients in the Child and Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program, while also helping the therapists with whatever they needed help with, such as one-on-one interventions.

Throughout her time in school and working as a psych tech, Abby enjoyed topics such as behavioral activation, stress management and self care, as well as DBT skills. In addition, she spent time focusing on DBT, prolonged exposure, and working with adolescents and young adults work through trauma, as well as depression and anxiety that comes with the big life transitions during that time in life. She also utilizes Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) when the situation calls for it. Abby also enjoys working with individuals experiencing grief and loss. Abby is currently pursuing the LPCC licensure.

In Abby’s free time, she enjoys going on road trips, traveling, organizing her home, and hanging with her dog.
