Annaliese came to PrairieCare with an assortment of experiences working with the mental health population. While still in high school, Annaliese was hired as a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) for SEMCIL (Southeastern Minnesota Center for Independent Living), working with a family who had three children with mental health diagnoses, assisting this family for 12 years. In addition, in 2010, Annaliese began working as a special education paraprofessional within Rochester Public Schools, with work spanning from high school students with developmental cognitive disorders or emotional behavioral disorders, to working with every type of special education student at the elementary school level. These experiences, in addition to others, helped guide Annaliese to pursue becoming a therapist. While with PrairieCare as an intern, Annaliese worked with every age, spending the majority of her time working within the adolescent DBT-Informed Skills PHP track and the Adult IOP.
Throughout her time working within mental health populations, she obtained substantial experience working with autism, mood/anxiety disorders, and ADHD. In addition, she finds special interest in helping patients through trauma, as well as working through complex cases.
Away from work, Annaliese enjoys going to plays, orchestras, or any sort of live performance. She also enjoys being active, specifically through yoga.
