Art Therapy is a therapeutic modality that utilizes the creative process to express thoughts and emotions that may be hard to verbally articulate. Art Therapists helps clients to express their internal conflicts through imagery and metaphor using a range of artistic mediums. Art therapy primarily focuses on self-expression using art media to support personal and relational treatment goals.
Cory blends psychodynamic and experiential approaches with art therapy to help each individual engage in the creative process to foster self-esteem and self-awareness, cultivate emotional resilience, promote insight, enhance social skills, and reduce and resolve conflicts or distress. He has experience working with children and adults in psychiatric settings, such as residential, inpatient, and outpatient care. Cory seeks to help each client express their emotions through art by providing creative experiences with various kinds of media in a safe and nurturing atmosphere.
