Dr. Vance received her undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota. She then attended medical school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She completed her residency at the American University of the Caribbean and a fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis.

Dr. Vance has worked in a variety of psychiatric settings, such as residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient care. She has experience working with eating disorders, including a specialty program as a Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatrist at the McCallum Place Center for Eating Disorders in Missouri.
