Katie joined PrairieCare in 2016 and has worked exclusively in the inpatient hospital providing inpatient therapy to children, adolescents, and families experiencing psychiatric crisis. Prior to her role as an inpatient therapist, Katie worked as a school-based therapist and an in-home mental health practitioner. Katie also worked in group homes as a program director serving adults with mental illness and brain injury.

Katie has worked primarily with children and adolescents struggling with suicidal thoughts, self-harm, trauma, anxiety, depression, anger/aggression, and family conflict. Katie is strongly influenced by her orientation as a structural family therapist focused on working with family systems to improve the overall functioning of the system. Katie also incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and collaborative therapeutic approaches in her work.
