Dr. LeRoux Smith specializes in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and has a history of treating a wide variety of patients in training at the University of Minnesota. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, with a research focus in neuroscience. During and post-college, he spent 4 years working in a residential group home and as a psychiatric associate in an inpatient child hospital unit. In 2008, he decided to go back to school and subsequently completed a medical degree at the University of Minnesota in 2012. He then completed a general psychiatry residency in 2016 and a child psychiatry fellowship in 2018.

Dr. LeRoux Smith has expertise in complex mood disorders, anxiety disorders, emerging personality and psychotic disorders. He is interested in understanding patients in the context of their families and social circumstances.

In his spare time, he enjoys cooking, gardening, reading and spending time with his family.
