Dr. Nelson is a Licensed Psychologist with a specialization in clinical psychology. She has over ten years of experience in working with children, adolescence, and adults who are struggling with a variety of mental health concerns and psychosocial stress. She values practicing within a multidisciplinary setting that emphasizes collaboration and a team based approach to working with children and families.

Dr. Nelson’s outpatient clinical practice includes therapy services for children, adolescents, adults, and families for adjustment issues, anxiety, ADHD, executive functioning, as well as mood and behavioral disorders. She places an emphasis on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) which examines the connection between situations and an individual’s emotions, behaviors, physical cues, and thought patterns. She also utilizes various play based approaches in her work with children and adolescents to emphasize playfulness, creativity, empathy, and engagement. Her beliefs of engaging family and school supports in treatment allow youth to have wide net of support.

Dr. Nelson also provides comprehensive psychological assessments for intellectual and academic abilities, adaptive skills, attention, executive functioning, as well as mood and behavioral functioning.

In her free time, Dr. Nelson enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, reading, and spending time outdoors.
