Dr. Sugarbaker is a board certified adult psychiatrist.  She completed her psychiatry residency at Stanford University, her medical degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine, and her undergraduate degree at Wheaton College in Wheaton, IL.

She enjoys working with both men and women, and provides medication consultation and management.   For patients already in psychotherapy with other providers, she values coordinating with involved clinicians to provide optimal care.

In each meeting, her goal is to create a safe space where personal difficulties can be explored and understood in a holistic way.  She believes it is important to complete a thorough evaluation and consider the medical, social, psychological and spiritual aspects of her patients’ concerns.  Her special interests are in women’s mental health across the lifespan, and in working with college students and young adults with a wide range of life stage and mental health issues.
