Sarah has been working in the mental health field since 2009. Her experiences in psychiatric nursing and case management include toddlers through geriatrics from inpatient, outpatient, partial hospitalization and residential settings. She prefers to work in a cooperative setting where both patient and provider can collaborate to find the best customized treatment for that individual’s needs.
Sarah is trained to treat across the lifespan, but has found the adolescent/young adult age group to be of special interest, as this population unquestionably endures the many obstacles of growing up and discovering one’s identity. She strives to assist them in overcoming personal barriers and becoming comfortable and content with themselves.
Moreover, Sarah has always been interested in women’s health, but having a child piqued her interest in perinatal mental health. She spent much of her graduate research investigating the effects that untreated mental illness in the childbearing years can have on both mother and family. She is passionate about raising awareness and providing support to this population.
Sarah devotes a significant amount of her time to being a mother to little ones. She has lived in Minneapolis since 2014 and often spends weekends uncovering all the adventures that this area has to offer. She also enjoys traveling around the United States and trying new foods.
