Alicia is a Clinical Social Worker who has worked in the mental health field for the past 8 years. She has experience working in both the community, outpatient, and inpatient settings with families, groups, and individuals. She has advanced training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TFCBT) and Managing and Adapting Practice (MAP). In addition, she has worked in a model that promotes rehabilitation of mental health called Children’s Therapeutic Services and Support (CTSS) and an intensive family therapy model called Collaborative Intensive Bridging Services (CIBS).
Alicia is a Mental Health First Aid Facilitator in youth curriculum educating community members on signs and symptoms of a mental health condition and an action step to follow during non-crisis and crisis related situations. Alicia enjoys working with caregivers, children, and adolescents providing a safe, encouraging environment where people can heal, repair relationships, restore mental health, and find wellness. Alicia believes it is important to involve the child’s support system and family involvement can be a key factor to a child’s success!
She uses an eclectic blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to help clients thrive in their environments.
