Anna came to work in the PrairieCare Medical Group Health and Wellness Clinic at South Lake Pediatrics where she could blend all of her passions into one. With over seven years of experience working with children and adolescence both in crisis and struggling with eating disorders Anna brings a wealth of knowledge and compassion to her role as Coach Therapist. She loves being able to work as a part of a healthcare team to meet the needs of her patients in one place. She sees patients with a variety of concerns including anxiety, mood changes, life transitions, conflict with others and low self-esteem. Anna has experience working in both inpatient and outpatient settings, running groups as well as individual and family therapy. Anna earned her Master’s Degree from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, with advanced training in pregnancy and postpartum mental health needs. She also has training in family Based Therapy (FBT) for eating disorders and enjoys working with clients who have dysfunctional patterns of eating, or body image concerns.

Anna finds her clients benefit from gaining a deeper understanding of their thoughts, emotions and behaviors, while learning new strategies for coping with uncomfortable feelings. She has an appreciation for complementary and alternative therapies and often incorporates deep breathing and mindfulness into her sessions. Her work with families and young children is based on current best practices showing integration of emotional regulation skills is key for families in order to help children understand and express their emotions fully in order to better understand themselves and others.

Anna is the mother of two young children and loves spending time with them and her husband outside exploring all Minnesota has to offer. She enjoys yoga, spending time with friends and catching a nap when she can!
