April has worked as a Social Worker and a Needs Assessment Counselor at PrairieCare. She has experience providing case management, assessments, individual, group, and family therapy, in addition to psychoeducation, and skills training. April has worked in a variety of settings, including inpatient, PHP, Day Treatments, schools, homes, and outpatient.
April believes in using a strengths-based and systems approach in her work with children/adolescents and their families. She uses elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and person-centered approaches. April believes that families are resilient, and have many strengths that can be utilized to improve their overall functioning. She has a special interest in mindfulness-based practices.
In her spare time, April enjoys cooking, reading, gardening, spending time outside, and watching the Minnesota Vikings. She also loves animals, especially her cats.
