Denise has been working in the mental health field since 2009 in a variety of settings including clinic, adolescent day treatment, and residential programs, and joined PrairieCare in 2018. She has extensive experience working in assessment and in working with adolescents struggling with a variety of mental health concerns and has a passion for working with couples.
Denise believes that communication matters, including how we communicate with others and how we communicate with and to ourselves. She seeks to help patients establish healthy communication skills to promote healthy relationships with the self and others, as well as healthy boundaries. Denise has an eclectic therapy style, but connects with Narrative Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy modalities, as well as psychodynamic psychotherapy, focused on the development of insight as a catalyst for change. Denise enjoys working with others with a passion for creative arts including music and theatre, and encourages her patients to bring these gifts into the therapy work.
In her free time, Denise enjoys spending time with her family including her dog and cat, home decoration/renovation projects, and spending time in nature.
