Ellen has been working with PrairieCare since July of 2016, in the Afterschool Intensive Outpatient Programs leading the Healthy Emotions Program for teens at our Edina location.  Prior to coming to PrairieCare, Ellen has worked in multiple settings, primarily with children and adolescents with complex trauma.  Ellen was a part of a pilot program providing Intensive In home Therapy and Bridging Services for families with youth at risk for out of home placement in Dakota County.  Ellen enjoys working with adolescent population as well as with their parents and caregivers.  Ellen uses a solution focused and systems approach when working with her patient’s which includes coordinating care with the patient’s care providers as well as advocating for her patient’s needs in the school setting.  Ellen also enjoys providing parent support and parent coaching as it applies to building positive relationships among parents and their teens.  Ellen also incorporates mindfulness practices into program as well as into her therapeutic approach.
