Johara joining Prairie-Care as group therapist and cultural liaison in 2017. Johara is a Marriage and Family Therapy systems-trained practitioner who worked for over seven years in different settings, including out-patient, in-homes as well as school-based setting with adolescents and children. She is interested in working with individuals, couples and families. She is a good listener who takes healing journey with her clients to help them find their innate health. Johara focuses in the area of anxiety, depression, parenting and trauma working with refugees and immigrants at Summit Guidance.

Johara uses strength-based approach in helping patients to access their internal wisdom. Johara facilitated Parenting groups for Oromo and Somali mothers in the community.

In her free time Johara enjoys spending time with her family and reading.
