Kate is a licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC) and a licensed alcohol and drug counselor (LADC) that has worked in inpatient and outpatient settings with children, teens, and adults. Prior to her position at Prairie Care in the inpatient program she was an outpatient therapist for adults and teens with mental health and substance abuse issues. Kate has also received training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Anger Management, and Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT.)
Kate has previously worked in outpatient mental health, outpatient chemical health/mental health, and inpatient chemical health/mental health programs with patients of all ages and their families. She utilizes a heavily client-centered focus, working to meet the client where they are at in order to encourage change. Kate will often utilize psychoeducation, dialectical behavioral therapy, and solutions focused therapy.
In her free time Kate likes to spend time with her family and their dog, hiking, cooking, and traveling.
