Margene has been providing an array of different mental health services since 1998. She recently moved to the area and has been working in Alaska with underserved populations all over the State, including the Arctic and the Island of Kodiak. She has had her own private practice, worked in hospital settings and in Community Mental Health. Her passion and education is working with people that have difficulty managing mental illness and addictions at the same time. Her philosophy is that everyone is doing the best they can, or they would be doing something different. She believes with skills, understanding and a helping relationship anyone can do better and live better.
Margene believes trust between client and provider is the key to success. She believes this is achieved with an empathic, non-judgmental approach. Her education and background is in treating people with mental illness and addictions with expertise in treating traumas, personality disorders, depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation and people that are having difficulty with life transitions.
Margene loves spending time with family and friends. She enjoys fishing, music, current events and traveling. She particularly loves to travel with friends outside the country to places she has never been.
