Katie has worked in a variety of settings with children, adolescents, adults, and families. Prior to her role as an inpatient therapist, Katie has worked as a school based therapist, outpatient clinic therapist, and an in-home mental health practitioner. Katie has also worked in group homes as a program director serving adults with mental illness and brain injury.

Katie has worked primarily with children and adolescents struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression, anger/aggression, grief and loss, LGBTQ struggles, attachment difficulties, suicidal ideation, and self-injury. Katie is strongly influenced by her orientation as a structural family therapist focused on working with family systems to improve the overall functioning of the system as well as the identified patient. Katie also incorporates Cognitive Behavior therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and collaborative therapeutic approaches in her work.
