Perinatal Intensive Outpatient Program
for Pregnant Women and New Mothers
At PrairieCare, we are here to help women and their families understand and overcome Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs). Each year nearly 1 in 5 new mothers will experience symptoms of postpartum depression or anxiety. While over 80% of new mothers experience mood swings within the first few weeks, known as the “Baby Blues,” some new parents continue to have feelings of sadness, anger, and worry that persist for months. This can affect both new mothers and fathers/partners throughout pregnancy and the first year of being a new parent.
Making the decision to seek support and therapy can be very difficult for mothers who find themselves struggling. It takes a lot of courage to make the first steps to get help. We understand the demands that you are experiencing in your life right now. Finding the time, energy, and brain power to participate in therapy can be a challenge, however, many mothers say it was the most important thing they did. We hope you choose to allow Prairie Care to be a part of your healing process! See below for more information on our program.
